If only life was paradise, happiness and ease all the time
We have the tendency to move away from what is unpleasant. And move towards what is pleasant. But life is ups and downs.
This photo is me in my natural element. On a warm beach, feeling the wind and sun on my skin. Hearing the sea water and the waves. Feeling the sand between my toes.
Warming my body, melting my tension away.
Needless to say this was a very pleasant experience.
The clash you don’t see
What you don’t see: just a few hours before, life felt really difficult.
My partner and I, while on a holiday, encountered some of our deepest wounds (from childhood) clashing with each other. We had opposite needs. And we had to deal with that, somehow. So we talked, and LISTENED. We shared. We allowed ourselves to feel our pain. We took the time. We took another step on our healing paths.
The human condition
It helps to remind yourself:
It’s the human condition to want to move TOWARDS what is PLEASANT.
And MOVE AWAY from what is UNPLEASANT.
That’s how it is. And that’s okay.
As long as we don’t get caught up in it.
We should remain in contact with the reality of life: it consists of UPS and DOWNS.
We are adults. We can carry our pain. We can deal with discomfort.
