Nuance is necessary

When we’re triggered and old trauma shows up, we have the tendency to think in black and white. Right or wrong. With me’ or ‘against me’.
When we are triggered
We close off,
disconnect,
protect ourselves,
because we feel unsafe.
What we need
We need curiosity
We need nuance
We need to listen
Because we can only learn by listening, not by talking.
How to deal with being triggered
To be able to stay in connection with ourselves, and our surroundings, we need to feel ‘SAFE ENOUGH’.
For that to happen, we need to work through our trauma and understand our beliefs and behavioural patterns.
PLEASE take good care of yourself, and the people around you, by doing THE WORK of understanding yourself, and developing awareness, curiosity and compassion.
